QUEZON City - Blessed Pedro Calungsod’s ‘everyday sainthood’ is set to inspire some 80 to 100 scholars from Libis, Quezon City when they listen to a series of talks on October 6.
Kritzia Santos, the Youth Outreach Ministry head of Christ the King, Quezon city, shared her hopes for the activity, “[I hope] that the kids will be able to be inspired to become everyday saints, to realize that [sainthood is] really in the little things ―in being able to try to become an everyday faithful friend, an everyday Catholic…”
Kritzia Santos is currently organizing similar talks about Bl. Pedro in Payatas, Pasig and Bulacan.
Members of the New Media and promotions committee for the canonization of Bl. Pedro Calungsod will be giving inspirational pep talks on the different aspects of Blessed Pedro’s life that aim to show that holiness is intertwined with real life.
YouthPinoy! president Eilleen Esteban, who heads the committee, will be speaking about being a friend.
Peter Capistrano of the Diocesan youth ministry of Pasig will talk about what it means to be a catechist.
Blair Jereza, a full-time missionary for Kids for Christ, will present how to live as a young, saintly person.
Chiro national leader Badette Felix will touch on the issue of migration and how being an OFW can be a path to service.
Jandel Posion of YouthPinoy! and Aaron Veloso, Prefect of the Sodality of the Immaculate Conception in the University in the Philippines, will be facilitating group dynamics and an activity for the young people who are in high school and college.
Some 10 youth facilitators from Challenge Club and Regnum Christi will also be present at the event.
According to Santos, after the activity, the scholars are expected to cascade what they have learned to younger kids in their own area in Libis.
